Button it!

Hello to you all, how are things in your world?  I have had some administrative duties to attend to over the last few days which have been rather intense but it is behind me now so…..play time for me everyone!  I hope you like today’s card, it is a “MAN” card!  Oooh err, I made it with my uncle in mind, he is 70 tomorrow.  I didn’t want to put the age on the front as it think it would have been just “fitting it in for the sake of it” and if I am honest, I prefer to write something inside.  So here goes with the details, see what you think!

green car & cards 004

Now, this card is 8″x8″ and I have mat and layered it onto a cream scalloped card.  The paper I have used is from Maja Design and you might not be able to see very well but both papers are various shades of brown, lifting to creams and ivories.  I have matted the Maja papers on cream and brown cardstock from my stash.  The border at the bottom is Spellbinders Borderabilities, A2 Bracket Borders One.  The central topper is created using 2 Joy Crafts Rectangle Frames which I have cut from brown and cream card and layered to create a “shadow”.  I cut 2 circles in cream card using my EK Success Circle Cutter, the larger one I have mounted over the rectangles and then placed a brown circle on top of it which I die cut from Spellbinders Stately Circles.  I have then stamped my sentiment onto the smaller cream circle and placed it centrally on the Stately Circle.  Finally, I cut out 2 Cheery Lynn Mini Flourishes One and used one whole one plus an extra sprig cut from the other.  I placed a brown button on a small element from a Spellbinders die set but I am not sure which one – sorry guys.  As this card is for a gentleman, I have kept the decoration to a minimum. See you soon! Hugs, Annie xx
